Lobbying & Political Action

Power Changes Everything

Gaining Political Influence

Now is the time for the Spyurk to mirror and to match the political lobbying strategies of Armenia’s most powerful enemies.

For too long, the Armenian Diaspora has assumed, incorrectly, that gaining personal access to certain elected officials is on par with achieving political influence. However, access is not the same thing as influence.

The loss of Artsakh to Azerbaijan on November 9, 2020 revealed this great weakness in the assumed power of Armenian political lobbies in London, Paris, Moscow, Boston, Los Angeles and Washington, DC.

The New Spyurk must remedy this situation with a robust commitment to gaining political influence with elected officials in five ways:

  • (1) by improving civic leadership training for all Armenians interested in political lobbying,
  • (2) by increasing the number of Armenians Spyurk participating in Odar political parties,
  • (3) by financing grassroots political operations,
  • (4) by making direct political campaign contributions, and
  • (5) by engaging Odar firms and political operatives capable of increasing the impact of Armenian Spyurk in the world’s most influential capital cities
